The New Way for many local conservatives: political fear and loathing

Years ago, San Luis Obispo County residents tried to think well of a person even if they disagreed with him or her. Now there’s the New Way, which requires insulting people with whom we disagree, attacking not their beliefs, words or votes, but them — personally — via hate radio, partisan websites, online comments on news sites, commentary below this column. Agreeing to disagree is weakness.
