New and improved Costco gas station reopens in SLO. See what changed
Good news, drivers — San Luis Obispo’s Costco gas station is back up and running after a nearly 70-day closure, and it now features plenty of new pumps to help ease the demand for discounted fuel.
The station, located at the Froom Ranch Way store, closed on Aug. 25 for renovations.
With only 12 pumps and some of the lowest prices in town, the Costco station often saw cars line up waiting for gas.
But now, after a 67-day closure, the station is open again — with a total of 32 pumps after 20 were added during renovations.
Adam Foth, general manager at the SLO Costco, told The Tribune that the station received the final approval to reopen on Thursday afternoon. He said prior to renovations, the SLO station was one of the smallest in the area.
Foth said he was excited to get the fuel station back up and running.
“I think it’s going to be good to bring some traffic back to the business, into the building,” Foth told The Tribune on Friday. “It’s nice to have something new and so big.”
Other plans for the SLO spot include the addition of about 130 parking spots in a lot behind The Home Depot.
