Popular SLO sandwich shop soft opens third location — with cocktails coming soon

High Street Deli’s third San Luis Obispo County location had its soft opening Tuesday and is now open for business — partly.

The new location hosts both a restaurant and bar under the same roof at 3427 Roberto Court, Unit 130, in San Luis Obispo.

The kitchen serves the popular sandwich shop’s full deli menu with house favorites as well as burgers, fries, specialty cutlets and appetizers to accompany the restaurant’s adjoining bar. At the Green Bottle, guests will be able to order beer, wine and cocktails made with on-site distilled vodka.

High Street Deli’s third location at 3427 Roberto Court Unit 130 in San Luis Obispo with the Green Bottle had its soft opening on June 30, 2026, and is now open for business for food only during regular deli hours from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. The business will start serving liquor as soon as its license becomes active.

However, with their liquor license still pending, the bar is not yet open for business.

The new location is currently serving sandwiches only during normal deli hours every day from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the same business hours as the chain’s other two locations at 350 High St. in SLO and 1326 Second St. in Los Osos.

Once the liquor license comes through, guests will be able to order drinks until 10 p.m. and the kitchen will stay open until 8 or 9 p.m. daily, owner Randy “Doobie” Coates told The Tribune on Tuesday.

“It’s supposed to be any day now,” Coates said.

Coates is excited to start serving his house-made liquor, including a Green Bottle original recipe which is still being developed, he said.

Coates anticipated hosting a grand opening event at the new spot by the end of the summer.
