More than 2,000 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo lose power during heat wave

Update 2:30 p.m.:

As of about 1:30 p.m., 230 PG&E customers were still without power in the Laguna Lake area. Power should be restored by 5 p.m, according to the PG&E power outage map.

A power outage swept across the city of San Luis Obispo on Monday afternoon, leaving more than 2,000 customers without electricity during a record-breaking heat wave.

In total, 2,312 PG&E customers lost power about 12:08 p.m., according to the PG&E power outage map.

The outage was centered in the Laguna Lake area. Some residents in the Laguna Lake area also lost power Sunday.

Power should be restored by 3:45 p.m.

PG&E is still investigating the cause of the outage, the website stated.
