A driver crashed her car into a Paso Robles pool on Sunday night.

“At 8:52 p.m., Maribel Castillo was attempting to parallel park her vehicle, when she accidentally pressed the gas pedal and jumped the curb, through a fence, and into the deep end of the Keene’s trailer park pool,” Paso Robles Police Department Operations Commander Tod Rehner wrote in an email to The Tribune.

Castillo was able to exit the SUV before it sunk to the bottom of the pool. She had no passengers in her vehicle, and no one was injured, Rehner said.

The pool belongs to the Paso Robles Mobile Home Park at 3126 Spring St., according to SLO County News.

The Paso Robles Fire Department and Alliance Towing drained part of the pool and removed the SUV at about 11 p.m., Rehner said. This caused “significant damage to the concrete around the pool,” he said.

The Paso Robles Fire Department and Paso Robles Police Department were not available for comment on Monday.
