Burglars steal electronics, cash from CORE Dance Studio in SLO

San Luis Obispo police are searching for suspects after burglars stole electronics equipment from CORE Dance Studio.

Employees reported the burglary about 4 p.m. Thursday, when they started work at the studio on the 800 block of Ricardo Court, according to Sgt. Chad Pfarr of the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

The burglars made off with a sound system, speakers and a studio camera, Pfarr said. Zheila Pouraghabagher, one of CORE’s owners, said in a Facebook message that a cash box was also stolen.

There were no signs of forced entry, and it appears the burglars got into the studio through an unlocked back door, Pfarr said.

The burglary makes the dance studio at least the fourth San Luis Obispo business to be robbed or broken into this week.

Batch, a downtown dessert shop, was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night. Burglars broke into Lincoln Market and Deli and G. Brothers Smokehouse early Friday morning and stole safes and cash registers.

Pfarr said the CORE burglary was a “crime of opportunity” and doesn’t appear to have been associated with any of the other incidents.
