Residential fire destroys Nipomo Mesa house

Firefighters on Monday morning knocked down a residential fire on the Nipomo Mesa that destroyed a house near Highway 1.

Cal Fire crews responded to reports of a residential structure fire about 10 a.m. and found a fully involved blaze burning in the 2600 block of Fowler Lane, near the Highway 1 intersection, said Adan Orozco, a Cal Fire spokesman.

The homeowners were not injured in the fire, and all occupants were able to evacuate, according to Orozco and a Cal Fire tweet.

“Every room in the house did have fire in it,” Orozco said. “So it would be considered a 100% destruction of the home.”

After containing the flames, crews remained on scene for two hours to mop up. The fire remains under investigation.
