The Grover Beach Police Department is asking for the community’s help to identify a man that attempted to cash a bad check at a local store on Monday.

Police said the person attempted to cash the bad check at Guadalajara Market on West Grand Avenue in Grover Beach.

According to police, the man attempted to commit fraud and was unsuccessful. The agency credited the store employees’ diligence for stopping the attempt.

The suspect was caught on surveillance camera, police said.
