Tribune’s Best: Vote for SLO County’s best athlete of Feb. 13-27
With overlapping winter and spring athletic seasons, this week’s Tribune high school sports poll will cover a two-week period.
Nominees come from basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball and softball, with 16 student-athlete up for a reader vote over the weeks of Feb. 13-27.
Nominees include athletes in boys and girls sports.
Last week’s winner was Mission Prep’s Jamar Howard, a boys’ basketball player, who garnered more than 17,266 votes (60%).
Runners up were Arroyo Grande High hooper Lucas Juarez with 10,158 votes (35%) and Magic Woodbury, of Morro Bay girls’ basketball, with 611 votes (2%).
This is an unscientific poll, and you may vote as many times as you wish to support your selection for The Tribune’s Athlete of the Week.
The poll closes at midnight on Sunday. To vote again, hit refresh.
Coaches, parents or students may nominate an athlete for next week’s prep poll by emailing nwilson@thetribunenews.com. Please write “Athlete of the Week nominee” in the subject line and provide player school, any key player stats, and the result of the game.
Polls will post weekly on Tuesdays through the end of the school year.
