Weekend rain to break SLO County’s dry spell. Here’s a look at the forecast

Break out your umbrellas, San Luis Obispo County — we’re finally in for a rainy weekend.

In San Luis Obispo, the rain will start early Saturday morning, with a 10% chance of showers after 4 a.m. and a 40% chance of rain after 10 a.m. accompanied by wind gusts up to 20 mph, the National Weather Service said.

Don’t expect more than a drizzle, though, as San Luis Obispo will receive less than a tenth of an inch of rain on Saturday, the Weather Service said.

Rain showers will likely continue into Saturday night, with a 70% chance of rain sprinkling up to a quarter inch of rain on San Luis Obispo.

In Paso Robles, showers will start on Saturday after 10 a.m., with wind gusts up to 30 mph, the Weather Service said.

On Sunday, the Weather Service forecast a 70% chance of rain showers for San Luis Obispo and 60% for Paso Robles.

Paso Robles could receive up to a quarter inch of rain on Sunday, with rain showers forecast into the evening.

Both San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles can expect rain showers to continue into Monday morning, with the sun breaking through the clouds that afternoon.

The rain is a welcome reprieve from the county’s dry spell. As of Friday, it hadn’t rained in San Luis Obispo County for 29 days.
