SLO County just got some more rain. Here’s how much fell in your area
Most of San Luis Obispo County woke up to steady rainfall Tuesday morning as a small storm brought much-needed precipitation to the Central Coast.
The precipitation, which started late Monday evening and lasted through late Tuesday morning and into the afternoon, didn’t amount to much overall.
Many areas of the county received less than a half-inch of rain, the San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the agency, Rocky Butte near San Simeon received the most rain in the county with 0.83 inches.
The rainfall likely won’t do much to ease the drought conditions the county is experiencing.
As of Nov. 4, San Luis Obispo County was experiencing “extreme” and “exceptional” drought conditions — the two worst categories of drought by the U.S. Drought Monitor. Most of California is in a similar situation.
The rest of this week is forecast to be dry and sunny, according to the National Weather Service.
