2 men arrested after early morning pharmacy burglaries in SLO County

Two Los Angeles men were arrested on suspicion of burglarizing at least two San Luis Obispo County pharmacies in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Andre Story, 32, and Brandon Williams, 41, were accused of burglarizing two pharmacies — one in Templeton and another Nipomo — before 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to a news release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a burglary in process on the 600 block of Tefft Street in Nipomo around 4:40 a.m.

Deputies arriving on scene saw a related vehicle fleeing the area and initiated a traffic enforcement stop, the release said. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was detained.

California Highway Patrol officers also responded to assist and caught one of the suspects as he ran away from the scene on foot, the release said.

Detectives connected the driver of the vehicle to the pharmacy burglaries based on evidence found inside the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said. Detectives also connected the two suspects to another pharmacy burglary that occurred earlier Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Las Tablas Road in Templeton.

It is unclear what items were taken from each pharmacy. The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to The Tribune’s request for clarification.

Story and Williams were both booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of charges of burglary and conspiracy. As of Tuesday afternoon, both men were still in custody with bail set at $500,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office inmate database.

The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with additional information to contact its detective division at 805-781-4500.
