Police chase, arrest driver allegedly driving down center of Paso Robles road

A man was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail after a car chase in downtown Paso Robles on Saturday.

Paso Robles police first responded to reports of a possible DUI when a man drove down the center of Spring Street roadway, according to a news release.

After a failed attempt to box the car in, police successfully deployed spike strips which brought the car to a halt in the 1200 block of Spring Street, according to the release.

San Diego man Luis Urrea, 27, was arrested on suspicion of a charge of reckless evasion and was booked into County Jail, according to the release.

Urrea’s bail was set at $50,000, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office booking log.
