An Atascadero man who was critically injured in an altercation outside Outlaws Bar last week has died.

Just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 24, Lucky Thomas was found unconscious and suffering from a “significant head injury,” the Atascadero Police Department said in a news release Monday.

Thomas, 30, was transported to the Adventist Health Sierra Vista hospital in critical condition, police said.

On Wednesday night, police were notified that Thomas had died from his injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated Thomas was involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the bar and suffered the head injury after falling to the ground when a third party broke it up.

Other bar patrons were present in the parking lot and witnessed the altercation, police said.

Police were still actively investigating this incident and urged anyone with information, pictures or videos to contact the Police Department at 805-470-3252.
