Man in critical condition after altercation outside SLO County bar
The Atascadero Police Department is asking the public for information after an altercation left a man with a serious head injury outside Outlaws Bar early Sunday morning.
The Atascadero Police and Fire departments responded to a report of an unconscious man in the Outlaws Bar parking lot, 9850 East Frond Road, at 1:54 a.m., police said in a news release.
Upon arrival, first responders found a 30-year-old man with a “significant head injury,” police said. The man was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, where he remains in critical condition.
Police said a preliminary investigation found the man was involved in an incident in the parking lot and suffered the injury after falling to the ground when a third person broke up the altercation.
Police said there were other bar patrons present who witnessed the altercation. They did not identify the man or where he was from.
The agency asks anyone with information, videos or photos that could assist with the investigation to contact Sgt. Netz at 805-470-3252.
