Two arrested on suspicion of Central California burglaries, authorities say

Two suspects were arrested in Santa Barbara County on Sunday morning following burglaries in Orcutt and Santa Maria.

At around 3:17 a.m. Sunday, the Santa Maria Police Department responded to reports of a commercial burglary at Walgreens in the 700 block of North Broadway, according to a news release.

Officers found upon arrival that burglars forced their way into the building and stole prescription medicine. The release did not disclose how much medication was stolen.

Following the incident, Santa Maria police were notified that Santa Barbara sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects for a commercial burglary in Orcutt, according to the release. The release did not specify the time or location of the Orcutt incident.

Santa Maria police said they were able to determine the suspects were the same for the Santa Maria burglary.

One of the suspects was identified as 19-year-old Ramon Sustaita of Fresno. The second suspect’s identity will not be released because they are a minor, police said.

Police are actively investigating the case and ask that anyone with information call 805-928-3781, extension 2278.
