Man who robbed bank in Santa Maria is sought by police and FBI
A bank robbery was under investigation in Santa Maria on Friday, but details were limited.
At 4:46 p.m. on Friday, Santa Maria police officers responded to Community Bank of Santa Maria, 1421 S. Broadway, after a report of a robbery, Sgt. Michael Huffman said.
Officers remained at the scene more than two hours later investigating the incident.
According to the FBI, authorities were still searching for the robbery suspect Saturday evening.
On Saturday, the FBI described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man in his mid 30s or early 40s. According to security camera footage, he was wearing a beanie and bandanna. He used a handgun to rob the bank.
