Man who allegedly threatened police with Molotov cocktail arrested in SLO

The San Luis Obispo Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly threatened police with a Molotov cocktail at an apartment complex near Cal Poly on Sunday night.

According to a news release Monday afternoon, an “alert citizen” reported seeing Bradford Jungers, 35, on foot in the 200 block of Santa Rosa Boulevard.

Police said they went looking for Jungers after officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Foothill Boulevard at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

Tenants told police Jungers was trying to break into their apartments and acting erratic, according to the release.

When police approached him, officers said Jungers threatened them with a knife, barricaded himself in an apartment and brandished an incendiary device known as a Molotov cocktail.

A San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT team was called in, but Jungers fled through a back door and was at large for much of Monday.

According to the release, officers responded to the Santa Rosa Boulevard call and located Junger in the area around 3 p.m.

He was arrested without incident and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $300,000, according to the release.
