Coast Union boys basketball team undefeated in league play

Senior Quinten Raethke led the Bronco boys basketball team with 19 points and nine rebounds as Coast Union defeated archrival Valley Christian Academy, 58-49, on the road Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The Broncos remain undefeated and in first place in the Coast Valley League with a 5-0 record. Seniors Angel Avina and Logan Brandt scored 17 and 11 points respectively. Valley Christian falls to 4-2, in second place.

The Lady Broncos weren’t so fortunate at Valley Christian Tuesday night, losing 81-14. Still, Coast Union’s girls are in second place in the Coast Valley League with a 4-2 record.

Maricopa High School comes to Coast Union on Friday, Jan. 31, to play the girls team at 5:30 p.m.; the boys game is at 6:30.
