CHP identifies bicyclist hit and killed in SLO crash

The California Highway Patrol has identified the man who was hit and killed by a vehicle near Edna Valley on May 20.

CHP spokesperson Angela Molinar identified the man who was fatally struck as 64-year-old Gregory Koch from Long Beach.

The vehicle-vs.-bicycle crash was reported at the intersection of Orcutt Road and Tiffany Ranch Road around noon on May 20.

After the crash, Koch was reportedly unconscious in the roadway with visible injuries, Cal Fire spokesperson Eva Grady previously told The Tribune.

First responders administered CPR, but their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, Grady said.
