4 injured in crash on Highway 46 in SLO County

Four people suffered minor injuries in a traffic collision on Highway 46 on Sunday afternoon.

The crash temporarily blocked both westbound lanes of Highway 46 East near Jardine Road before one lane reopened at about 4:05 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs.

CHP and San Luis Obispo County Fire Department personnel responded to the collision. Responders reported that all occupants were out of the involved vehicles when crews arrived.

CHP requested a tow truck for a gray Kia reported to be blocking the intersection. Dispatch logs indicated the vehicle was obstructing traffic and required removal from the scene.

Four patients were evaluated with minor injuries, according to emergency response information.

The cause of the collision and the total number of vehicles involved were not immediately confirmed Sunday afternoon.
