A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle near the Edna Valley on Wednesday.

Cal Fire spokesperson Eva Grady told The Tribune the vehicle-versus-bicycle crash was reported at the intersection of Orcutt Road and Tiffany Ranch Road around 12:03 p.m.

The victim was found face-down in the roadway with visible injuries and was unconscious, she said.

Authorities administered CPR on the patient, but the efforts were unsuccessful, and a coroner was dispatched to the scene, Grady said.

SLO County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tony Cipolla confirmed the fatality to The Tribune, but did not provide additional details. The identity of the victim was not yet available.
