1 person displaced after fire damages apartment in SLO County

At least one person was displaced after a fire damaged a San Luis Obispo County apartment complex.

According to a news release from Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services, authorities responded to a fire in the 7700 block of Morro Road on Tuesday around 6:08 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire blazing in one apartment, causing significant smoke, the release said. The fire had potential to spread to a second unit.

The fire was knocked down within about 10 minutes, the agency said, but the fire caused smoke and drywall damage to at least one unit.

One person was displaced by the blaze and received assistance from the Red Cross, the release said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, the release said.

The Tribune reached out to Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services for additional information but did not immediately receive a response.
