Drivers might want to think twice before hopping on Highway 227 to avoid traffic to and from southern San Luis Obispo County.

Traffic was stalled on the highway on Friday afternoon, thanks to a Caltrans paving project near the SLO County Regional Airport, which resulted in one-way traffic control, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

Cars were backed up between Buckley Road and Price Canyon Road as of Friday afternoon, a CHP alert said.

The Caltrans QuickMap showed that cars were slow in both directions.

The one-way traffic control was estimated to end at 3 p.m. Friday, the map said, but traffic was still impacted as of 3:30 p.m.
