A vegetation fire burned at least two acres of vineyard land in rural San Luis Obispo County on Friday afternoon.

The Panza Fire broke out around 1 p.m. Friday in a vineyard off of La Panza Road east of Creston, according to emergency response app PulsePoint.

As of 1:38 p.m., the fire had scorched between two and four acres, Cal Fire spokesperson Eva Grady told The Tribune. Air tankers slowed the progress on the fire, but it had not yet been contained.

The fire had a potential to burn five acres, Grady said.

Forward progress was stopped by 1:48 p.m., Cal Fire posted on X.
