Part of Hwy. 227 to close near SLO airport for construction. Learn when

Construction will close part of Highway 227 for three days, potentially causing delays for drivers headed to the airport, according to Caltrans.

A local maintenance crew will be working on a paving project in front of the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, the California Department of Transportation said in a Thursday, April 12, news release.

Drivers will face delays of up to 15 minutes due to roadwork, Caltrans said.

Here’s when the roadwork will start:

Where will Highway 227 lanes close?

Drivers on southbound Highway 227 will encounter “one-way reversing traffic control” between Farmhouse Lane and Buckley Road, Caltrans said.

“There will be flaggers on both ends of these lane closures,” the state roads agency said, and signs will be used to “alert the traveling public.”

When does construction start?

According to Caltrans, traffic controls will be in place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, through Friday, April 24.

“Please allow extra time for your commute through this area,” Caltrans said.
