The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the woman killed in a crash on Highway 166 at the San Luis Obispo County line last week.

According to CHP Officer Maria Barriga, the woman has been identified as 27-year-old Gabrielle Hinojosa of Bakersfield.

Hinojosa was traveling westbound in a Ford Fusion on Highway 166 near Rinconada Ranch at about 6:44 p.m. on April 14 when the vehicle crashed and rolled approximately 20 feet off the road.

She was pronounced dead at the scene while a toddler was taken by ambulance to Marian Medical Center.

An update on the child’s status was not provided by CHP on Tuesday.

It was the second fatal crash along the remote stretch of highway in recent weeks.

On March 25, a Kern County resident was killed when their vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a commercial big-rig.
