Injured horseback rider taken by helicopter to hospital in SLO County

California Highway Patrol’s Coastal Division Air Operations rescued an injured horseback rider in North County on Saturday afternoon, the department’s third medical evacuation that day.

According to a Facebook post from the department, its H-70 helicopter responded to an injured horseback rider near Creston.

Medical officials landed on scene, treating the individual for their injuries before transporting them to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, the post read.

CHP Air Operations responds to a variety of calls, including search and rescue, emergency medical service and police support, according to the post.
