SLO County man arrested after brandishing gun in road rage incident, police say

A Paso Robles man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he allegedly brandished a handgun at a person during a road rage incident.
Officers first responded to a call for service around 1:10 p.m. for an incident involving a man who brandished a handgun at a person in the area of Spring and 9th streets, the Police Department said in a news release. No people were injured during the incident.
Police quickly located the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 13th Street and River Road, the release said. Officers then conducted “a high-risk traffic stop” to take the man into custody.
The suspect was identified as Jay Alba, 56, of Paso Robles.
According to the release, a ghost gun was recovered from Alba’s vehicle during the investigation.
Alba was booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of charges of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of motor vehicle occupants, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm in public without a concealed carry permit and possession of a high-capacity magazine and a firearm without a serial number.
He remained in jail custody as of Thursday evening with bail set at $30,000, according to the SLO County Sheriff’s Office Who’s in Custody website.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
