Highway 46 partly closed in SLO County after semi truck crash
First responders blocked one lane of traffic on Highway 46 while rescuing a semi truck that drove off the road in San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
At about 4:25 p.m., the semi truck was traveling eastbound down Highway 46 when it swerved across the westbound lane and drove into a ditch near Davis Road, the CHP traffic log said.
The semi truck landed about 50 feet away from the highway and about 20 feet down the ditch. The CHP requested a major rotator truck to assist with the rescue.
Emergency responders closed the westbound lane of the highway during the rescue, the CHP said.
