According to a separate release from Newsom’s office, McDaniel was a sole practitioner at the Law Office of Kenneth McDaniel from 2013-19 and 2021-22. He worked as an associate at the Law Office of Stephen D. Hamilton from 2019-21.

He also worked as an attorney for the San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Dependency Panel from 2017-19 and as an associate at the Law Offices of William D. Ausman from 2011-13, the release said.

He received his law degree from Santa Barbara College of Law and is registered as a Democrat, the release said.

“We look forward to his continuing distinguished service on behalf of our community,” the court said in its release.
