A massive blaze engulfed part of the Templeton Feed & Grain building in the heart of Templeton on Friday evening, leaving behind a still-burning shell even after crews worked throughout the night to contain the fire.
A commercial structure fire was reported at the 105-foot-tall historic granary around 11:11 p.m. Friday. Quickly, flames could be seen shooting from the top of the business’s grain silos. The towering inferno got so large at one point that it could be seen from Highway 101.
By Saturday morning, much of the silos were left in cinders, though several parts of the building remained on fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
