A two-acre vegetation forced a campground to evacuate at Lake Nacimiento on Saturday evening.

The fire near Sandy Point Campground prompted a full wildland response with ground and air resources en route by 6 p.m., according to Cal Fire’s Facebook post.

By 6:35 p.m., evacuations were in progress for the Campground, keeping the area clear for responding crews to tackle the fire.

The vegetation fire was 60% contained by 8:25 p.m., with firefighters were working hard to construct line and extinguish hotspots, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire sent a final update on Facebook at 9:30 p.m., sharing that the fire was 100% contained, with one engine staying behind on scene until 10 p.m.
