1 person killed in late-night car crash on Highway 46 in Paso Robles

One person died in a late-night car crash on Highway 46 in Paso Robles on Wednesday.

At approximately 9:31 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department received a report of a two-vehicle car crash with injuries on Highway 46 East at the intersection with Mill Road, the agency posted on Facebook.

The two involved vehicles were blocking both lanes of the highway, the post said.

A driver and passenger in one of the cars were extricated from their car by Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries, the post said.

The driver ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died while at the hospital, the post said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
