Update: New outage cuts power to nearly 1,500 in SLO County; repairs underway

Update, 12:45 p.m.:

The outage in southern San Luis Obispo County that affected around 1,505 customers was resolved as of 12:30 p.m., while the outage in Atascadero had been reduced to around 281 customers still without power near Templeton, according to the PG&E Outage Center.

At 11:16 a.m., a third outage in the area north of Santa Margarita Lake and east of Highway 101 near Atascadero was reported, affecting 1,480 customers, according to the Outage Center.

The outage is expected to be restored by 2 p.m., with maintenance work currently underway, according to the Outage Center.

A pair of power outages cut power to more than 4,000 PG&E customers across San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday morning.

According to PG&E’s Outage Center, 1,505 customers east of Arroyo Grande lost power at around 10:22 a.m., closely followed by a 10:24 a.m. outage in North County that cut power to 2,628 customers in Atascadero west of Highway 101 as far north as Templeton.

The cause of the outages is currently unknown, with power expected to be restored by 3:30 p.m. in Arroyo Grande, according to the Outage Center.

Power in Atascadero is estimated to be restored by 5:15 p.m., according to the Outage Center.
