Multi-car pileup backs up traffic on Highway 101 in SLO County
A multi-car pileup backed up traffic on southbound Highway 101 in Grover Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 4:16 p.m. near the Grand Avenue off-ramp, according to the CHP traffic incident report.
A black Mazda CX9, burgundy Honda Pilot, white Toyota sedan, black Lexus SUV and white work truck were all involved, according to the CHP page.
The vehicles were at one point blocking the right lane, CHP reported, and the Honda Pilot was not driveable.
The crash happened right during what is usually the busiest time along that stretch of Highway 101.
According to Caltrans QuickMap, southbound traffic was backed up from Grand Avenue to Avila Beach Road as of 5:30 p.m.
