Youth sports coach arrested in SLO County arranging to meet minor for sex, police say

A volunteer youth sports coach was arrested after allegedly arranging to meet with a minor for sex in Arroyo Grande.

According to a news release from the Arroyo Grande Police Department, detectives arrested Ventura resident Jason Fisher, 49, at around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.

During an investigation into Fisher by the Arroyo Grande Police Department, assisted by the Grover Beach Police Department and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, detectives learned that Fisher volunteers as a youth sports coach in his community, according to the release.

Fisher was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of charges of arranging to meet with a minor for lewd purposes and meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, according to the release. His bail was set at $25,000.

No other details were released. Fisher made bail and was released a few hours after being booked, according to the release.
