One person was injured after becoming trapped in a trench in rural San Luis Obispo County on Friday afternoon.

According to a post on X, firefighters were at the scene of a rescue near the 2500 block of Lazy Hill Road in San Miguel as of 12:14 p.m. An Urban Search and Rescue team was en route to the scene.

The circumstances of the rescue were unclear.

A photo of the scene shared by Cal Fire showed a ditch filled with a portable trailer and other items.

Cal Fire extricated a patient from the trench as of 1 p.m., the agency said in a post on X soon after.

The person sustained minor injuries, Cal Fire said.
