SLO County teen arrested after flashing knife in high school parking lot, police say
The Paso Robles Police Department arrested a Liberty High School student on Thursday morning after he reportedly flashed a knife in the campus parking lot, police said.
At about 9:50 a.m., the school reported that a student “displayed a knife” in the parking lot where a “small group of students confronted one another,” the Police Department said in a news release.
The school reported the “potential for a physical altercation,” police said.
The principal identified two students as suspects, and both were searched for weapons.
“One of the students had a silver, folding pocket knife in his pocket,” the release said.
Police arrested the 17-year-old student on suspicion of possession of a weapon on school grounds.
“He was cooperative with the investigation and transported to San Luis Obispo Juvenile Hall,” the release said.
