2 residents and dog escape fire that damaged home in Paso Robles

Two residents and their dog escaped a fire that damaged their Paso Robles home on Friday afternoon, according to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.

The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. at a house on Vine Street located between 16th and 15th streets, according to the emergency response application PulsePoint.

The blaze ignited on the outdoor porch and then spread to the inside, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Battalion Chief Brian Lewis said.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found light smoke billowing from the rear of the home, he said.

One occupant had evacuated another occupant and a dog from the home, then attempted to extinguish the fire from the porch, Lewis said. No one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters then quickly extinguished the fire.

The fire damaged the home’s attic and back porch, Lewis said.
