3 fires erupted near Central Coast mission. Now investigators are asking for public’s help
Investigators have asked for the public’s help regarding a series of wildland fires at La Purisima Mission State Historic Park last week.
Santa Barbara County firefighters were dispatched to the state park near Lompoc at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 and battled at least three blazes in the area.
“If you were in the vicinity of La Purisima Mission State Park on Dec. 6 and witnessed any activities or circumstances that you believe could be related to the fires, your input could be invaluable to our investigation,” fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
“We are particularly interested in any photographs, videos, or first-hand observations that individuals may have captured during or around the time of the incident. Even seemingly minor details can be crucial in an investigation of this nature,” he added.
Information can be sent via email to fireinfo@sbcfire.com, or to speak directly to an investigator, contact the Fire Investigations Unit at 805.686.5072.
“The Santa Barbara County Fire Department appreciates the public’s cooperation and support in this matter,” Safechuck added.
