Burst water line creates sinkhole on Nacimiento Lake Drive
A burst water line created a sinkhole in the southbound lane of Nacimiento Lake Drive on Saturday, according to a Facebook post by Monterey County.
The sinkhole, which has been marked off by cones, is 4 feet wide and 3 to 4 feet deep, but the road is still driveable, according to the release.
Warning signs have been set up for motorists prior to reaching the area, according to the post.
Travelers headed in the northbound direction on Nacimiento Lake drive across the dam were urged to take caution.
Public Works and Parks crews are working to assess the damage and prepare for road repairs, according to the post.
