A Nipomo man was killed in the crash on Highway 101 in Santa Maria on Monday morning, according to CHP.

The crash occurred when one driver attempted to change lanes, CHP Officer Maria Barriga told Noozhawk.

That car then rolled multiple times and crossed the center median, landing on the southbound side of the highway, Barriga said.

The driver in the vehicle that overturned was a 68-year-old Nipomo man. He was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center and died from his injuries, according to Barriga.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
