At least one person was injured in a major crash on Highway 166 outside of Santa Maria early Sunday morning.

According to CHP’s traffic incident report, officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash near Twitchell Dam Road around 2:17 a.m. A Honda Accord was reported on its roof, 80 feet off the road.

The crash caused major injury, according to the log, but no further information has been released. Initial dispatch reports indicated there were three people involved in the incident — one of whom may have been trapped under the car.

As of 9 a.m., the car was still in the area, and traffic prevented CHP from removing the vehicle, according to dispatch logs.
