Highway 101 crash backs up traffic in Templeton

Update: Southbound traffic has been cleared, according to a CHP report at 1:29 p.m.

Original story: A vehicle crash on southbound Highway 101 in Templeton has backed up traffic, according to a Caltrans Twitter post.

The incident occurred after 12 p.m. near Vineyard Drive.

Caltrans is telling travelers to expect “major traffic delays with first responders on site. Both northbound lanes remain open.”

According to the California Highway Patrol, debris scattered on the roadway and southbound traffic was stopped as of a 12:18 p.m. post.

“Travelers on southbound Hwy. 101 near Vineyard Dr. should expect delays due to multi-vehicle collision,” Caltrans said on Twitter. “Exercise caution and watch for emergency vehicles in the area.”
