Crash causes long Highway 101 backup near Santa Margarita
A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Santa Margarita caused a mess for morning commuters headed to San Luis Obispo Tuesday morning, backing up southbound traffic from the Highway 58 exit to the middle of Atascadero.
According to California Highway Patrol’s traffic report, the crash occurred around 8:40 a.m. and five to six vehicles were involved.
Traffic was backed up on Highway 101 southbound to the Santa Rosa exit. Vehicles were moved to the side around 8:50 a.m. and all lanes were reopened.
But traffic was completely stopped for a bit and took some time to fully clear.
No injuries were reported at this time.
