Atascadero house fire causes damage; one of four people inside suffers burn injuries
Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services responded early Saturday to a residential fire at 7775 Yesal Ave. that authorities said left one person with burn injuries.
Crews arrived at the house just before 12:30 a.m. and saw heavy smoke coming from an attached two-car garage and extending into the residence.
Firefighters were able to quickly gain access to the garage and keep the flames from entering the main part of the home.
All four people inside were evacuated and after about 30 minutes the fire was deemed contained.
Fire and ambulance crews administered medical treatment to one resident for burns to his hands. He went to a local hospital for additional care. A cat was found dead in the garage, according to the report.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
