1 person transported to hospital after Santa Maria structure fire

A structure fire injured one person in Santa Maria on Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the 200 block of West Street in Santa Maria and burned the exterior of a building, according to the Santa Maria Fire Department.

Firefighters and the American Medical Response were on the scene at 7:05 a.m. Monday, the fire department said in a tweet.

One person was injured and transported to a local area hospital, according to the fire department. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

No firefighters were injured, according to the fire department.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

On Sunday, a structure fire on South Curryer Street in Santa Maria also sent one person to the hospital.
