Structure fire in Santa Maria sends one person to the hospital

A structure fire in Santa Maria injured one person Sunday before 8 a.m., according to the Santa Maria Fire Department.

The Santa Maria Fire Department, American Medical Response and the Santa Maria Police Department responded to a fire in the 1500 block of South Curryer Street near Mianami Park.

According to the fire department, one person was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center but the person’s injuries were not identified.

No firefighters were injured, according to the department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
