Bystanders rescue driver from sinking car at Lake Nacimiento, Cal Fire says

Bystanders rescued a woman who drive her vehicle into Lake Nacimiento at Heritage Ranch on Thursday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire crews responded to the scene around 2 p.m. Thursday and determined that the driver was not injured, the agency tweeted.

Photos shared by Cal Fire via Twitter showed the vehicle nearly entirely submerged in the lake.

Lake Nacimiento reopened for limited use on May 8 after being closed due to the shelter-at-home order. The popular tourist attraction is located north of Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County.

According to Cal Fire, Monterey County park rangers are investigating the incident.
